Statement by Serenity Group, Uganda

Notice to the general public.

It is brought to our attention that an article is circulating rampantly on social media, alleging prime minister Mahinda RAJAPAKSE to have invested USD 10,000 Million (USD 10 Billion) in our group of companies in Uganda.

We categorically and vehemently reject these claims and allegations to be inaccurate, baseless, and untrue. It is apparent that these were written by amateur, misguided, and possibly pseudo journalists whose professionalism and ethics we question. Not only have they taken most information such as company names, photographs, and locations from our official website and social media without our consent, they neither contacted any of us for comments or feedback up-to-date.

This article refers to a group of companies that were formed by our founders. Some project companies were set up with foreign direct investment by legit investors from The UK, USA, and Sri Lanka.

Although we as a company chose not to engage and respond to such baseless, cheap political propaganda at first, we have since decided to issue this notice to the public for clarity and full disclosure to protect our goodwill and the reputation of our organization.
